With the Mazda3, you have the choice between two engines. The standard 2.0-liter SKYACTIV delivers up to 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, while the available 2.5-liter engine puts you in control of 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the manual transmission is far from dead when it comes to Mazda models. The Mazda3 can be equipped with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with a manual-shift mode.
It is truly amazing how Mazda has managed to make this vehicle both a joy to drive and extremely efficient. With the entry level model equipped with an automatic transmission, you'll find fuel economy ratings of 30 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. Thanks to i-ELOOP regenerative braking technology, however, you can even get up to 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway with the more powerful engine option.
The 2016 Mazda3 has a value-laden entry level trim thanks to standard features like push-button start, Mazda Connect infotainment, rearview camera, Bluetooth and 60/40-split folding rear seats. Even more exciting features are available though, like Blind Spot Monitoring, a navigation system, a display on the dashboard that shows critical vehicle info and leather-trimmed sport seats.
